Notre Dame is in the mix for one of the top defensive line recruits in the country for the class of 2025.

The Fighting Irish are one of four programs still being considered by 4-star defensive lineman Christopher Burgess Jr. Alabama, Michigan and Ohio State are Burgess’ other finalists.

Burgess is expected to announce his commitment during the All-American Bowl broadcast on Jan. 6. The game will be shown on NBC.

Burgess is a top target for the Fighting Irish in the class of 2025. He’s the No. 147 overall player and the No. 18 defensive lineman in the country for that class, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Burgess attends Simeon High School in Chicago, Illinois. He’s listed at 6-foot-5, 240 pounds. He initially picked up an offer from Notre Dame back in March of this year.

Notre Dame currently has commitments from 11 prospects in the class of 2025. The group sits at No. 1 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
