Notre Dame offensive lineman enters transfer portal after 2 seasons with the program

Notre Dame offensive lineman Caleb Johnson is entering the transfer portal, according to a report.

That’s per On3’s Matt Zenitz. Johnson was a 4-star prospect in Notre Dame’s 2021 recruiting class.

Johnson was the No. 312 overall player and the No. 22 offensive tackle in the country for the class of 2021, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

However, he never found consistent playing time with the Fighting Irish. Johnson redshirted in 2021 and made just one appearance for Notre Dame last season. He played in Notre Dame’s regular season finale loss to U

SC.

Notre Dame does return multiple starters along the offensive line, including All-America candidate left tackle Joe Alt. Still, Notre Dame could look to replace Johnson via a transfer portal addition this offseason. The portal window will remain open through the end of April.

Johnson is originally from Ocala, Florida. He will have 3 years of eligibility remaining at his next program.
