Notre Dame offers under-the-radar athlete from Virginia

Notre Dame made an interesting offer in the class of 2023 on Wednesday night.

The Fighting Irish extended a scholarship offer to 2023 athlete Brandyn Hillman. Here’s his announcement:

So far, Hillman has gone almost completely under the radar in his recruitment. He does not have a 247Sports Composite ranking and he has picked up the majority of his scholarship offers within the last  month.

It’s unclear what position Notre Dame is recruiting Hillman to play. He acknowledged head coach Marcus Freeman, offensive coordinator Tommy Rees and defensive coordinator Al Golden in his offer tweet.

Hillman plays quarterback for his high school in Portsmouth, Virginia. However, it’s likely he will be switching positions when he moves to the next level. He’s listed at 6-foot-2, 180 pounds.

Hillman has also picked up offers from programs like West Virginia, Virginia Tech and Boston College in recent weeks.
