Notre Dame just added a major piece to its 2023 recruiting class.

The Fighting Irish picked up their third commitment of the weekend on Sunday afternoon, adding 4-star receiver Rico Flores.

Flores announces his decision on Instagram Live.

Flores is the No. 27 receiver in the country for the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 12 player from the state of California.

He chose the Fighting Irish over his other 2 finalists, Georgia and Ohio State.

This addition strengthens Notre Dame’s grasp on the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class, per 247Sports Composite rankings. The Fighting Irish re-took the top spot on Friday after picking up a commitment from 4-star cornerback Micah Bell. Notre Dame also added 4-star pass rusher Charles Jagusah on Thursday.

Flores is the third pass catcher to join Notre Dame’s 2023 class. 4-star Braylon James and 3-star tight end Cooper Flanagan are also in the fold. In total, Notre Dame now has 18 commitments for this cycle.

Listed at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds, Flores has the frame to play in the slot or on the outside at Notre Dame.
