Notre Dame is riding high after picking up a huge road win over Miami on Wednesday night.

The Fighting Irish will soon be in Joe Lunardi’s Field of 68, he indicated on Friday afternoon. Notre Dame is currently Lunardi’s first team out, but could slip into the field with losses from Colorado State, Seton Hall, Creighton, or San Diego State.

Seton Hall and Creighton face each other on Friday night, so at least one loss from that group is certain.

Notre Dame is looking for its first NCAA Tournament appearance since the 2016-17 season. The Fighting Irish were 20-12 and had a chance to make the field in 2020 before the Big Dance was canceled due to COVID-19.

Notre Dame is currently tied for second place in the ACC with an 8-3 record. North Carolina and Miami are also 8-3 while Duke leads the conference at 8-2.

Duke, North Carolina, Miami and Wake Forest are also currently in Lunardi’s projected field.

The Irish will be looking to capitalize on the momentum gained from their road win over the Hurricanes. They face NC State on the road on Saturday.
