Notre Dame quarterback target Austin Novosad has made a final decision regarding his college future.

Novosad is sticking with his Baylor commitment, he announced on Monday evening. This comes roughly a week after he made the trip up to South Bend for a visit.

Here’s his announcement:

Novosad is from Dripping Springs, Texas, so getting him out of the Lone Star State was likely always going to be difficult. He was also considering Ohio State and Texas A&M, but ultimately decided to stay with the Bears.

It’s possible Notre Dame knew this was coming — it offered 4-star QB commit Kenny Minchey over the weekend. Like Novosad, Minchey had an impressive week at the Elite 11 Finals this summer and has been rising up the recruiting rankings.

Quarterback remains Notre Dame’s primary missing piece in this recruiting class. The Irish’s 2023 group currently ranks No. 1 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Notre Dame does have a top quarterback commitment in the class of 2024 from 5-star passer CJ Carr.
