Notre Dame running back target Dylan Edwards has set a commitment date.

Edwards will announce his final decision on Aug. 6, he told 247Sports’ Tom Loy. Edwards was previously committed to Kansas State.

Edwards decommitted from the Wildcats shortly after picking up an offer from Notre Dame. He’s already made a visit to South Bend and all indications are that the Irish are in a great spot to land his commitment.

Notre Dame already has 1 running back committed in 4-star Jayden Limar, but the Irish are looking to take 2 backs in this class.

Edwards is the No. 19 running back in the country for the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 2 overall player from the state of Kansas.

Prior to committing to Kansas State, the speedy running back had previously picked up offers from programs like Oklahoma, Oregon and Nebraska.

Notre Dame currently has 20 commitments in the class of 2023. The group ranks No. 2 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
