Notre Dame is hosting a graduate transfer kicker on an official visit this weekend, according to a report.

Per InsideNDSports’ Tyler James, former South Florida kicker Spencer Shrader is in South Bend this weekend. According to James’ report, Shrader already has an offer from the Fighting Irish.

Shrader began his collegiate career as a walk-on before ultimately earning a scholarship at USF. He is 20-of-26 on field goals over the past two seasons. He was a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award in 2021.

Finding a kicker in the transfer portal is a priority for Notre Dame this season. The team’s kicker in 2022, Blake Grupe, is out of college eligibility. Grupe was also a transfer and made 13-of-18 field goals during his lone season at Notre Dame.

Notre Dame is expected to be active in the transfer portal this cycle. In addition to kicker, the Irish have outstanding needs at quarterback, receiver, defensive line and in the secondary.

Notre Dame will face South Carolina in the Gator Bowl later this month.
