Notre Dame takes care of business vs. Syracuse, remains 1 game back of 1st place
Notre Dame was dominant in a 79-69 road win over Syracuse on Wednesday night.
It was a bounce-back win for the Fighting Irish after they fell to Wake Forest over the weekend. Notre Dame hasn’t lost back-to-back games since Dec. 3.
This win also marks Notre Dame’s 20th of the season:

Paul Atkinson Jr. led the way with 20 points on 5-of-10 shooting. He also made 10 free throws and grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds. Nate Lazewski scored 17 points off the bench.
This is Notre Dame’s first 20-win campaign since the 2019-20 season. The Fighting Irish haven’t made the NCAA Tournament since 2016-17.
However, that’s expected to change this year. The Irish are one of the best teams in the ACC this season and are expected to safely make it into the Field of 64.
ESPN’s Joe Lunardi was projecting Notre Dame as a No. 9-seed, as of Tuesday morning. The Fighting Irish still have a chance to improve their seeding over the coming weeks.
Notre Dame hosts Georgia Tech on Saturday.
