Notre Dame target, 5-star QB CJ Carr announces commitment date
Notre Dame target CJ Carr will announce his commitment on Thursday, June 9.
Carr is a 5-star quarterback prospect in the class of 2024. He’s long been the Fighting Irish’s priority at QB in that class. According to 247Sports, he’s one of just 5 passers in that class to receive a Notre Dame offer.
He will make his announcement at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday on CBS HQ. In addition to Notre Dame, he’s also considering Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Georgia and LSU.
Saline (Mich.) High five-star 2024 QB CJ Carr will commit Thursday evening at 7pm EST. “I’m excited to get this out there and start recruiting for that school.” Finalists are #Michigan #MichiganState #NotreDame #Wisconsin #Georgia and #LSU. Carr is the No. 5 quarterback prospect in the country for his class, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
Earlier this offseason, Carr raved about Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees following a visit to South Bend.
Carr would be Notre Dame’s third commitment in the class of 2024. It’s still extremely early for the cycle, but the class ranks No. 5 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
It will be interesting to see how — if at all — Carr’s commitment will impact Notre Dame’s class of 2023 recruiting, should he pick the Fighting Irish. Notre Dame is also pursuing an elite prospect in that class in 5-star QB Dante Moore.
Carr is the grandson of longtime Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr. He attends Saline High School in Saline, Michigan.
