Notre Dame offered a scholarship to athlete Brandyn Hillman earlier this week.

The Virginia native has gone under-the-radar so far in his recruitment, but he’s picked up several Power 5 offers within the last week. However, his offer from Notre Dame escalated things even further.

“I was jumping up and down in my room,” Hillman told IrishSportsDaily’s Matt Freeman. “That was amazing. It was a great moment knowing a powerhouse program like Notre Dame offered. It was so amazing.”

Hillman does not currently have a 247Sports Composite rating. However, that is sure to change after his flurry of offers in late September. Kentucky, Tennessee, Boston College, West Virginia and Virginia Tech are amongst the other programs who have offered.

He’s the No. 44 athlete in this class and the No. 13 prospect from the state of Virginia, according to 247Sports rankings.

Hillman also told IrishSportsDaily that Notre Dame is recruiting him as an “athlete” and hasn’t settled on a particular position. He plays quarterback and defensive back for Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Virginia.

Here are some highlights from the first 4 games of his senior season:
