The Fighting Irish rolled UNLV last Saturday, walking away with a 44-21 victory against the Rebels.

It was a big game not only for the Irish as a whole, but for Michael Mayer as well. The Irish tight end racked up 115 yards on 6 receptions with 1 touchdown in the win.

Mayer has recorded 526 yards and 6 touchdowns on 44 receptions so far this year. Mayer has nearly out-produced Notre Dame’s entire WR corps alone, and is widely considered one of the top tight ends in the country.

In the last 2 seasons, Mayer ranks 1st among tight ends in receptions, yards, and yards per game. Mayer was previously awarded Tight End of the Week honors for his performance vs. North Carolina in Week 4.

Notre Dame will need Mayer to be at his best again this week as the Irish face No. 16 Syracuse on the road.
