Notre Dame to be without 2 key defensive players vs. Louisville
Notre Dame will be without a pair of important defensive players on Saturday night in Louisville
The program published its availability report approximately 90 minutes before kickoff. Safety Thomas Harper and defensive lineman Gabriel Rubio will both miss the game due to injury.

Harper is Notre Dame’s starting nickel back and has been a big part of the team’s success in the secondary so far this season. Notre Dame is currently ranked No. 3 nationally in pass defense efficiency rating.
So far this season, Harper has recorded 25 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 2 pass deflections and 1 forced fumble. Clarence Lewis is a candidate to take over in Harper’s absence.
Rubio missed a couple games earlier this season due to an injury, but he played in both of Notre Dame’s last 2 contests against Ohio State and Duke. It’s unclear if he’s dealing with the same knee problem that kept him out earlier this season or if he has a new injury.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
