Harper is Notre Dame’s starting nickel back and has been a big part of the team’s success in the secondary so far this season. Notre Dame is currently ranked No. 3 nationally in pass defense efficiency rating.
So far this season, Harper has recorded 25 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 2 pass deflections and 1 forced fumble. Clarence Lewis is a candidate to take over in Harper’s absence.
Rubio missed a couple games earlier this season due to an injury, but he played in both of Notre Dame’s last 2 contests against Ohio State and Duke. It’s unclear if he’s dealing with the same knee problem that kept him out earlier this season or if he has a new injury.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
