Notre Dame appears to be in a good spot to land Wake Forest transfer quarterback Sam Hartman.

After being linked to Hartman last week, it was reported the graduate transfer would take a week to make his decision. With Notre Dame’s bowl game in the rearview mirror, that announcement could be coming soon.

On Friday, two 247Sports experts filed crystal ball projections for Notre Dame to land Hartman’s commitment. The experts were national writer Chris Hummer and Notre Dame insider Tom Loy.

Hartman would be a major addition for Notre Dame. He’s the ACC’s all-time leader in passing touchdowns and is one of the most experienced quarterbacks in the country. If he plays in 2023, it would be his sixth season of college football.

He’s also led a Wake Forest program to one of its best stretches in program history. The Demon Deacons went 8-5 this season a year after winning the ACC Atlantic division. Wake has appeared in a program-best seven straight bowl games.

Notre Dame will have high expectations again in 2023. The Irish won nine of their final 11 games to end the year and return several key players.

Hartman is expected to make his decision in the coming days.
