Notre Dame freshman defensive back Jaden Mickey will not play vs. UNLV on Saturday.

The Fighting Irish announced that news in their availability report on Saturday afternoon. Mickey also missed last week’s game with an injury.

Mickey has been an immediate-impact player in Notre Dame’s secondary. Despite being a true freshman, he has forced his way into the Irish’s two-deep and has made 5 tackles so far this season.

Notre Dame is facing a must-win game against UNLV on Saturday. The Irish are trying to get a win after falling to Stanford at home last weekend.

The Fighting Irish are 3-3 on the year and need to beat the Rebels in order to stay on pace for bowl eligibility. Notre Dame still has to face ranked opponents in Syracuse, Notre Dame and USC later this year.

UNLV has lost two straight games by a combined score of 82-14. Those losses came to Air Force and San Jose State.

Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m. ET on Peacock.
