Notre Dame will reportedly host elite LB prospect Derion Gullette this spring
Notre Dame is expected to host linebacker prospect Derion Gullette on an official visit this spring, according to a report.
That’s per IrishBreakdown.com’s Ryan Roberts, who spoke with Gullette’s high school coach. He said Gullette is planning to take an unofficial visit to South Bend this spring and could eventually make an official visit to campus.
Gullette has gone under-the-radar so far this cycle and is still a 3-star prospect according to 247Sports Composite rankings. However, his profile is rising quickly. He’s picked up offers from programs like Alabama and Oklahoma in recent weeks.
The 2023 linebacker attends Marlin High School in Marlin, Texas. Marlin is located just outside of Waco.
He’s listed at 6-foot-2, 22o pounds. He’s a three-sport athlete who also competes in basketball and track.
According to Roberts’ story, Notre Dame seems Gullette as a “Rover” in its defense moving forward. He could also play middle linebacker and has excelled as a receiver at the high school level.
Notre Dame has the nation’s No. 1 overall recruiting class so far in 2023, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. The class includes commitments from seven defensive players, including 5-stars Keon Keeley and Drayk Bowen.
Gullette is expected to choose a program before September, according to Roberts’ report.
