Notre Dame’s defensive line graded out at an elite level vs. Cal

Notre Dame’s defensive line produced one of the best performances in the country in Week 3 vs. Cal.

According to Pro Football Focus, Notre Dame recorded the most sacks (6) and second-most pressures (27) of any defensive line in the country last week.

It was another elite performance from a unit that has performed well to start the season, despite Notre Dame’s slow start as a team.

The Fighting Irish have already recorded 10 sacks this season, which is tied for 10th nationally. Four Notre Dame players have already earned at least 1.5 sacks in the first three games: Isaiah Foskey, Jacob Lacey, Jayson Ademilola and J

ustin Ademilola.

As for the Cal game, Notre Dame was led by Lacey (2 sacks) and Jayson Ademilola (1.5 sacks).

Notre Dame’s defensive line will be asked to play a big role next week against North Carolina. The Tar Heels’ offense has been one of the best in the country to start the season, but they’ve yet to play a defense like Notre Dame’s.

Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
