Notre Dame’s offense ranks outside the top 100 in several important categories

Notre Dame is off to a disastrous start to the 2022 college football season and the lack of productivity on offense is a big reason why. The Irish fell 26-21 to Marshall at home on Saturday afternoon and are now 0-2 on the season.

Notre Dame’s offense ranks below average or outside the top 100 on most of the major offensive categories through Week 2 of the season.

Through two weeks of the season, Notre Dame is ranked 115th

in the nation in points per game, 106th in yards per play, 118th in total yards accounted for, 77th in passing yards per attempt, 112th

in quarterback efficiency rating, and 114th in rushing per attempts.

Notre Dame is averaging 15.5 points per game, 199 passing yards per game, and 302 total yards per game in the third season with Tommy Rees as the offensive coordinator.

Overall, Notre Dame’s offensive numbers with Rees calling plays have been less-than-elite over the past 3 seasons.

Notre Dame faces Cal in Week 3.
