Ohio State will be a little shorthanded when it hosts Notre Dame in Week 1.

The Buckeyes will be without Evan Pryor, who recently suffered a season-ending injury per multiple reports. Pryor was expected to fight for playing time alongside TreVeyon Henderson and Miyan Williams.

Pryor seemed to confirmed the news with this message on Tuesday afternoon.

Pryor saw limited playing time last year, but was impressive when he was able to get on the field. He carried the ball 21 times for 98 yards and 1 touchdown. He also caught 2 passes for 8 yards.

This injury will impact Ohio State’s running back depth. The Buckeyes are currently 15-point favorites over Notre Dame in their Week 1 matchup.

Notre Dame is 2-4 all-time against Ohio State. However, OSU won has 4 straight meetings in this series. Notre Dame’s victories over the Buckeyes came during a home-and-home in 1935 and 1936. The teams most recently played in 2016.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET on Sept. 3.
