Notre Dame 5-star quarterback target Dante Moore could be nearing a final decision, according to a report.

That’s per 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong, who wrote a wide-ranging story on the 2023 quarterback landscape earlier this week. Wiltfong noted that Moore’s announcement could be coming up.

Here’s an excerpt:

“Talking to a staffer at Detroit King, I wouldn’t be surprised if Moore is off the board sooner rather than later. Obviously there has been a lot of Notre Dame buzz. Head coach Marcus Freemanand the Irish are all in here.”

Moore has long been Notre Dame’s top quarterback target in the class of 2023. He’s currently ranked as the No. 4 quarterback in the country, according to 247Sports rankings.

The Detroit native is also considering programs like Michigan, Miami, LSU and numerous other top programs.

Wiltfong said Notre Dame is also still talking with 4-star quarterback Christopher Vizzina, who is a top Clemson target. If Moore goes elsewhere, that would immediately become one of the most intriguing recruitments in the country.

It’s still early, but Notre Dame has a chance to build the No. 1 class in the country for the class of 2023 — Marcus Freeman’s first full cycle as head coach. The Fighting Irish currently have 9 commitments and the No. 1 overall class in the country, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
