Notre Dame is hoping to make a big splash as it looks to replace star safety Kyle Hamilton this offseason.

The Fighting Irish are reportedly set to host Northwestern transfer Brandon Jospeh on an official visit this weekend. That’s per BlueandGold.com:

Joseph is leaving Northwestern after the Wildcats endured a frustrating season in 2021. They went just 3-9 this season despite winning the Big Ten West in 2020.

Joseph was an Associated Press first team All-American in 2020 as a freshman. He picked off six passes that season and helped the Wildcats to their division title. In 2021, he was still productive as he grabbed 3 interceptions and was third on the team with 79 total tackles.

He would be a seamless replacement for Hamilton, who is expected to be a top pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He was a big reason for Notre Dame’s defensive resurgence over the past two seasons.

It’s unclear when Joseph is expected to decide. The spring semester at Notre Dame begins on Jan. 10.
