Son of former NFL linebacker great commits to Notre Dame

Kennedy Urlacher, a 3-star safety in the Class of 2024, announced Monday that he has committed to Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish beat out the likes of Iowa, TCU, Miami and Penn State, among others.

Of course, Urlacher is the son of former Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher, who is one of the top linebackers in recent NFL history. Kennedy is taking a much different route that his father as far as collegiate options are concerned: Brian attended New Mexico.

Urlacher announced his commitment via Twitter Monday afternoon:

Urlacher is considered to be the No. 607 overall prospect in the country in the Class of 2024. He’s also considered to be the No. 57 safety in the country and the No. 13 player out of the state of Arizona.
