Notre Dame’s fall camp is underway, and freshman receiver Tobias Merriweather is trying to make the most of his opportunities.

Merriweather has been drawing high praise from Notre Dame’s coaches during the early part of fall camp. On Monday morning, Notre Dame’s official Twitter account published a video of Merriweather making a competitive catch and scoring a touchdown.

He made that catch over sophomore cornerback Philip Riley.

Merriweather could work his way into a prominent role in Notre Dame’s receiver rotation this fall. The Irish return Avery Davis and Lorenzo Styles, but receiver is perhaps the biggest question mark on the roster outside of quarterback.

He was a 4-star recruit from Camas, Washington. He was the No. 18 receiver in the country for the class of 2022, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s the top-ranked skill player in Notre Dame’s freshman class.
