Damar Hamlin, in a video shared by the Buffalo Bills on Saturday, spoke directly to everyone who shared thoughts, prayers, and support over the last month since suffering sudden cardiac arrest on a football field against the Cincinnati Bengals. Hamlin thanked people by name who had a hand in saving his life and said he wanted to wait until the right time to speak publicly.
“While I’m so thankful to everybody,” Hamlin says in the nearly 6-minute video, “I know that it isn’t enough just to be thankful. This is just the beginning of the impact that I wanted to have on the world, and with God’s guidance I will continue to do wonderful and great things. I couldn’t do this without any of the support and the love, and I can’t wait to continue to take you all on this journey with me.”
Hamlin appeared at the Bills’ playoff game last Sunday — though that appearance sparked conspiracy theories claiming some rather wild things.
