Pat Narduzzi and the Pitt Panthers have put together an impressive past 2 years in Pittsburgh. The team’s 2021 iteration was especially strong, winning 11 games with Kenny Pickett at the helm of the offense.

2022 was a bit of a step back but still impressive. The Panthers finished 9-4 with a Sun Bowl victory over UCLA.

On Tuesday, Narduzzi was asked by ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg what it would take for the Panthers to garner even more respect in the ACC and as a national player.

His answer, in short? Pitt has done plenty, but the media is hesitant to favor them.

“We’ve won 20 games in the past 2 years, hopefully there’s a little respect. (We) knocked off No. 18 UCLA then you get ranked below them in the rankings, which is always comical,” Narduzzi said. “Right now I know our basketball team aint ranked either which is par for the course. Respect is something you earn and I guess we haven’t done enough, hopefully it’ll give our kids a chance to go through the offseason, had a great workout this morning.”
