Pitt getting NCAA Tournament buzz after knocking off No. 20 Miami
Things are looking up for the Pittsburgh Panthers after another impressive win. Pitt knocked off No. 20 Miami 71-68 at home on Saturday. It was Pitt’s first home sellout since 2019 when No. 1 Duke and Zion Williamson were visiting.
The Panthers closed out the game on an 11-0 run in the final 2:03 to defeat the Hurricanes. It was a 5-point Miami lead at the half (33-28), but UM led by as much as 11 in the second half. At the 1-minute mark, it was 68-67 Miami, which would be the Canes’ last lead of the game.
First announced sellout for #Pitt basketball since the 2019 matchup with No. 1 Duke when Zion Williamson brought a packed house.

Pitt’s Blake Hinson led all scorers with 21 points on 8-of-18 shooting from the field. Jamarius Burton added 19 points.
The Panthers have now won 4 of their last 5 games, improving to 15-7. People are starting to talk about Pitt as a potential NCAA Tournament team.
Things you didn’t think you’d tweet: Jeff Capel has Pitt right in the NCAA Tournament picture without John Hugley.
Put that man near the TOP of the ACC Coach of the Year race alongside Brad Brownell and Kevin Keatts.

Did not anticipate Pitt being an NCAA Tournament team in November. Good for the Panthers.

I’m trying to wrap my head around Pitt being an NCAA Tournament team. Beating Miami has them in good position.
