Carmelo Anthony makes retirement decision after 19 seasons in the NBA

Carmelo Anthony is a 10-time NBA All-Star, a 6-time All-NBA selection and a member of the 75th anniversary team. And now he has announced retirement plans in a post on social media.

On the court, Anthony scored 30,203 points and 8,365 rebounds and was a 3-time Olympic gold-medalist.

At Syracuse, Anthony was a 6-foot-8 and 220-pounder out of Baltimore, Maryland (Oak Hill Academy). Anthony was named the Final Four Most Outstanding Player after he led Syracuse to its first NCAA championship in 2003.

Anthony led all NCAA Division I freshmen in rebounding average with 10.0 rebounds per game. His 22.2 points per game were ranked second among freshmen in scoring average and 16th among all Division I players. His 778 points broke Lawrence Moten’s freshman scoring record at Syracuse, and his 349 rebounds passed Derrick Coleman’s school rookie mark.

Anthony finished with the third-highest single-season points total in Syracuse history behind Dave Bing and John Wallace, and his rebound total ranked 9th on the Syracuse season rebounding list.
