Syracuse added a commitment from Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga defensive lineman David McMorris on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-2, 255-pound defender reported scholarship offers from Boston College, Pitt, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, and West Virginia, as well as from Penn, Dartmouth, and Brown. He took an official visit to see campus over the weekend and decided to pull the trigger. McMorris announced the news on social media.

McMorris was credited with 42 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, and 1 forced fumble in 9 games as a junior last fall. He’s a 3-star prospect in the industry-generated 247 Composite and ranked as the No. 675 recruit. He’s also the third-ranked prospect from the D.C. area.

The Orange now holds 5 known commitments in the 2024 cycle, a group that saw a nice surge from the recent weekend’s recruiting efforts. McMorris is the second defensive lineman to visit campus and commit on the back of that visit, joining Middletown (Del.) edge defender Tristen Graham.
