Syracuse loses top-ranked commitment in class of 2022

Syracuse’s 2022 recruiting class took a big hit on Monday afternoon.

The Orange’s top-ranked commitment for the class of 2022, Q’yaeir Price, announced he will be re-opening his recruitment.

Here’s his announcement:

Price had been committed to Syracuse since July 10, 2021.

He’s a 3-star defensive line prospect. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Price is the No. 675 overall player and the No. 100 defensive lineman in this class.

Price attends DePaul Catholic High School in Wayne, New Jersey. He’s listed at 6-foot-2, 255 pounds.

It’s unclear where Price could be headed now. However, he does hold an offer from Rutgers, which is located less than one hour from his hometown of Wayne.

Syracuse is now down to just 10 commitments in the class of 2022. The class ranks No. 68 nationally and No. 13 in the ACC, per 247Sports Composite rankings

. The Orange’s top commitment in this class is now 3-star receiver Donovan Brown.

Syracuse faces Louisville on Saturday.
