Armaan Franklin, Virginia guard, announces plans for 2023-24 season

Armaan Franklin is leaving Virginia and will enter the 2023 NBA Draft.

The veteran guard announced that decision on Friday afternoon. He just finished his 4th season of college basketball and his 2nd campaign at Virginia.

Here’s his announcement:

Franklin had a year of eligibility remaining, but will instead pursue his professional options.

The senior is coming off of his best season as a college basketball player. He averaged a career-high 12.4 points per game and shot 37.3% from 3-point range.

Franklin was a key player on a Virginia team that competed for the ACC regular season title this year. The Cavaliers earned a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament, but were upset in the 1st round by Furman.

Franklin is the 5th Virginia player to announce his departure following the 2022-23 season. Reece Beekman, Isaac Traudt and Kadin Shedrick are amongst the players expected to move on this offseason.
