The Reese’s Senior Bowl is honoring the lives of Devin Chandler, Lavel Davis Jr. and D’Sean Perry, the Virginia players who lost their lives in a tragic shooting during the 2022 season.
Throughout the week of Senior Bowl practices, Cavalier stars Anthony Johnson and Dontayvion Wicks have alternated jersey numbers. The cornerback and wide receiver out of UVA have split time wearing numbers 1, 15 and 41 during practice to honor Chandler, Davis and Perry.
The Senior Bowl also presented memorial jerseys to head coach Tony Elliott this week to recognize the fallen players. That is an awesome honor for the Cavs as Johnson and Wicks look to recognize their teammates and improve their draft stock.
Johnson finished 2022 with 34 total tackles, 2 interceptions and 12 pass breakups. Wicks had 30 catches for 430 yards and 2 touchdowns.
