Virginia hosted some prospects on official visits over the weekend, and those visits helped produce a commitment.
Wednesday evening, Jaylin Lackey — a 3-star CB out of Georgia — announced his pledge to the Cavaliers. Prior to his commitment, Lackey generated offers from Georgia Tech, Georgia Southern, Kentucky, Liberty, Pitt, Minnesota and Vanderbilt among others.
Lackey is listed at 6 feet and 185 pounds out of South Gwinnett High School in Snellville, Georgia. According to the 247 Sports Composite, Lackey is a 3-star CB and the No. 5
6 CB recruit in the country for the class of 2024.
Lackey made an official visit to Charlottesville on June 2 and it was enough for the Cavs to land his commitment. The addition of Lackey brings Virginia up to 7 commitments for the cycle. Lackey is currently the highest-ranked prospect among that group for head coach Tony Elliott.
