Virginia football added a commitment out of the transfer portal Sunday evening, landing former SMU defensive back Sam Westfall. He’s Virginia’s 3rd defensive back transfer addition of the offseason.
Westfall is a solid piece for the Cavaliers, too. The Saint George, Utah native has spent the past 4 years in Dallas with the Mustangs, starting all 13 games last season.
He totaled 15 tackles and 3 pass deflections in 2022.
Westfall joins former Iowa State cornerback Tayvonn Kyle and former Clemson cornerback Malcolm Greene as corners to transfer to Virginia this offseason.
He will have 2 seasons of eligibility remaining.
