Virginia hoops holds moment of silence for recent passing of Terry Holland

Virginia basketball held a moment of silence for iconic Cavaliers head coach and AD Terry Holland, who passed away earlier this week due to complications from Alzheimers disease at the age of 80.

The moment of silence was held prior to Virginia’s game against Clemson Tuesday evening.

Holland was Virginia’s leader in all-time wins until Tony Bennett surpassed it this season, holding a 326–173 record. During his 16 y

ear tenure at Virginia, Holland took Virginia to the Final Four twice, won the ACC Championship in 1980 and was named ACC Coach of the Year 2 times.

He returned to Virginia in 1995 as its next Athletic Director. He stepped down from the position in 2001.
