Virginia lands commitment from highly-touted pass rusher out of Georgia

Virginia picked up a crucial commitment in the class of 2024 on Wednesday.

The Cavaliers earned a pledge from 3-star EDGE Chase Morrison. The Georgia native also had offers from programs such as Duke, Wake Forest and Indiana.

Here’s his announcement:

Morrison is the No. 890 overall player and the No. 61 EDGE in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 96 player from the state of Georgia.

He attends Roswell High School in Roswell, Georgia. He’s listed at 6-foot-5, 240 pounds.

Morrison’s commitment comes just one day after Virginia added 3-star receiver Christian Zachary to their 2024 class.

Virginia now has 6 commits in the class of 2024. Morrison is the top-ranked commit in the Cavs’ class at this point in the cycle. The group ranks No. 54 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
