Virginia lands commitment from top-100 forward out of 2024 class

Virginia continues to find some success on the recruiting trail as the team received the commitment of Class of 2024 forward Jacob Cofie. The 6-foot-9 prospect out of Sammamish (Wash.) Eastside Catholic is currently listed as a 4-star recruit and is among the top 100 prospects in his class.

With the commitment to UVA, he picked the Cavaliers over a group of finalists that also included Washington, Ohio State, and USC.

The decision came down to the overall feel of the program and the way he saw himself growing as a player within it.

“I ultimately chose Virginia because I felt it was the best school to develop me as a player and take my game to the next level,” Cofie said in an interview with On3 Sports. “Also, being coached by Tony Bennett would be an honor. I feel like there’s room on the team for me to work hard and earn an opportunity to get minutes as a freshman. It felt like family when I went on my visit.”

How he performs at the collegiate level will be something to keep an eye on.

Cofie is UVa’s first known commitment in the 2024 class. You can see some of his highlights below:
