Virginia lands in top 8 for top-50 point guard prospect out of Nevada

Jase Richardson is one of the top point guards in the Class of 2024 and whittled his list to 8 Tuesday evening.

Virginia was the only ACC school that made the cut for Richardson, whose dad starred at Michigan State from 1999-2001 before having a lengthy NBA career. And Virginia will have to beat out a potential legacy commitment, with the Spartans also cracking the list.

Also under consideration for Richardson are Alabama, Arkansas, Cincinnati, San Diego State, Stanford and USC.

Richardson s

tands at 6-2 and has the ability to run point or occupy the 2-spot on the floor. He’s rated as the No. 46 prospect in the nation and the No. 9 overall point guard avaliable.

Virginia has yet to earn a commitment in the Class of 2024, having posted a top 25 recruiting class in 2023.
