Virginia offers medical update on Perris Jones one week after successful surgery

Virginia revealed on Friday that running back Perris Jones has been transferred from the U of L Medical Center to a rehabilitation center in Louisville, where he will stay for several weeks.

Jones recently underwent spinal surgery and, after it, the program said Jones was “briefly” able to walk. Jones was hospitalized after suffering an apparent neck injury in Virginia’s loss to Louisville

on Nov. 9.

The program also provided an address for any fans who are looking to send well wishes to Jones as he continues his recovery. Notes or cards can be mailed to the following: Perris Jones, C/O UVA Football, 290 Massie Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22903.

It was a scary scene when Jones went down, but updates from Virginia since have been positive. The program said that Jones had regained movement in all of his extremities later the same night the incident took place.

Jones is in his fifth season at Virginia. He posted a career-best season in 2023, rushing for 393 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also 6 passes for 107 yards this season.
