Virginia secures regular-season co-championship, ACC Tournament double-bye

Virginia cut down the nets on Saturday. The No. 13 Cavaliers secured a piece of the regular-season ACC title with a 75-60 win over Louisville on Saturday.

UVA dominated the game, never trailing and leading for all but 19 seconds of game time. Armaan Franklin and Jayden Gardner led the Cavaliers’ scoring with 16 points each.

After the game, UVA cut down the nets to celebrate the sixth ACC championship of the Tony Bennett era. The program won just 5 ACC titles in program history before Bennett became head coach.

Virginia will share the co-championship with the winner of Sunday’s Pittsburgh-Miami. The Panthers or the Hurricanes will also have the No. 1 seed in the ACC tournament bracket.

The Cavaliers will have a double-bye in the ACC Tournament as the No. 2 seed. Action in Greensboro, North Carolina begins on Tuesday, with UVA playing on Thursday.
