Virginia Tech linebacker Alan Tisdale is preparing to make his season debut on Saturday vs. Miami.

The senior linebacker missed the first 6 games of the season due to an eligibility issue. But coach Brent Pry has been complimentary of his work ethic even while on the sidelines.

On Wednesday, Pry said Tisdale’s work on scout team has helped keep him ready for this chance.

“He’s been on the scout team for six weeks. But he’s worked his butt off, so he doesn’t look rusty to me,” Pry said. “I’m not saying he’s a well-oiled machine out there right now, but he’s doing a nice job.”

Tisdale is a welcomed addition to Virginia Tech’s defense. He’s expected to start at WILL linebacker on Saturday vs. the Canes.

After getting off to a good start in 2022, Pry’s defense has given up 40+ points in back-to-back games. They now face a Miami offense that gained over 500 yards in a home loss to North Carolina last weekend.

Kickoff is at 12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
