Brent Pry released a statement following the departure of quarterbacks coach Brad Glenn on Tuesday.

Glenn, who was also set to serve as VT’s passing game coordinator this year, has accepted the vacant offensive coordinator position at Cincinnati.

Glenn will be reuniting with Scott Satterfield after the pair overlapped at App State. Glenn was an assistant at App State from 2005-11, serving in a variety of roles. Satterfield was App State’s QB coach from 2003-08. He later returned to be the Mountaineers’ head coach from 2013-18.

Here’s Pry’s statement:

“I want to congratulate Brad Glenn on his new opportunity at Cincinnati as offensive coordinator,” Pry wrote. “I realize the longstanding relationship Brad has with coach Satterfield from his time at Appalachian State. We are thankful for Brad and support him in this career opportunity. We are appreciative of his family’s time as Hokies. I wish them all the best!”

Virginia Tech will now be in the market for a new QB coach. Glenn was hired by Pry last offseason to that role.

The Hokies struggled at the quarterback position in 2022 with Grant Wells and Jason Brown. The Hokies ranked 12th in the ACC last year with a passer efficiency rating of 116.33.
