Devin Farrell, former Virginia Tech QB, announces transfer destination

Devin Farrell, a former Virginia Tech QB, announced Tuesday afternoon that he has committed to Rhode Island to continue his collegiate football career.

Farrell, a former 3-star QB in the Class of 2022, played just 1 season in Blacksburg before entering the transfer portal at the end of April.

Farrell, who stands at 6-6, 196 pounds, did not see any game action last year.

It’s not hard t

o see why Farrell entered the portal either. He’s buried behind a few different quarterbacks on the roster, and would have to battle incoming Baylor transfer Kyron Drones as well.

3-star signees William Watson and Dylan Wittke would have also battled Farrell for minutes in Blacksburg.
