Stone Snyder, VMI linebacker transfer, announces ACC commitment

Stone Snyder, a veteran linebacker from VMI, has announced a commitment to play in the ACC.

Snyder announced on social media a commitment to play at Virginia Tech.

Snyder, who made 339 total tackles over 4 years, including 143 solo tackles, 12.5 sacks and 23.5 tackles for a loss. He led team in tackles for 3 straight seasons, and the 21 tackles against The Citadel in spring of 2021 ranks fifth all-time in a single game.

He’s listed at 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds, and was named a first-team All-Southern Conference pick last year after he made 107 tackles, which also led the SoCon.

Snyder’s average of 10.7 tackles per game ranked 3rd among FCS players at the end of the regular season; 5.1 solo tackles ranks 29th.
