Virginia Tech pulled off a stunning upset on Saturday night, beating Duke 82-67 to win the ACC Tournament.

The Hokies erased all doubt about whether or not they will get into the Field of 64 — they entered this week on the NCAA Tournament bubble but now could rise into a single-digit seed.

Hunter Cattoor was the hero for the Hokies. He scored a game-high 31 points on 11-of-16 shooting. He made his first six 3-pointers of the game and ended the night 7-0f-9 from beyond the arc.

Keve Aluma also chipped in 19 points on an efficient 6-of-8 shooting. He also grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 7 assists.

This is Virginia Tech’s first-ever ACC Tournament title. The Hokies’ last tournament win of any kind came in the 1979 Metro Conference Tournament.

This is a highly-disappointing result for Duke, who was hoping to get some hardware after dropping Mike Krzyzewski’s final home game vs. North Carolina last week. The Blue Devils haven’t won the ACC Tournament since 2019.

Both teams will now wait to learn their seeding assignment during the bracket reveal on Sunday. The broadcast starts at 6:00 p.m. ET on CBS on Sunday.
