Virginia Tech will hold its 2022 spring game on April 16, the program announced on Tuesday.

This will be the first chance for fans to see a Brent Pry team at Lane Stadium. More details about the game and events are to be announced, per Virginia Tech’s release.

It will also be the first chance for Hokie fans to their new quarterbacks. Virginia Tech brought in Marshall transfer Grant Wells and South Carolina transfer Jason Brown earlier this offseason.

Wells and Brown are expected to compete for the starting job this offseason. They’re replacing Braxton Burmeister, who entered the transfer portal prior to bowl season.

Pry replaces Justin Fuente, who parted ways with Virginia Tech after six seasons on the job. Pry will be tasked with deliver an 9+ win season at Virginia Tech for the first time since 2017.

For now, the Hokies are focused on closing out the 2022 recruiting cycle. Their class currently ranks No. 31 nationally and No. 4 in the ACC, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. National Signing Day is on Feb. 2.
