Virginia Tech’s window is dwindling, but it still has a chance to make the NCAA Tournament.

The Hokies have apparently moved into the “next four out” section of Joe Lunardi’s bubble projection. He delivered that news on ESPN on Wednesday night.

Lunardi is expected to release a full bracket projection on Friday morning.

Virginia Tech likely needs a lot of help, but is doing what it can to help its cause. The Hokies have won seven of their last eight games and still have an opportunity to pick up a Quad 1 victory vs. Miami on Saturday.

So far this season, Virginia Tech is 0-5 in Quad 1 games. That’s the biggest stain on its résumé — and the thing that will likely keep Virginia Tech from an at-large berth if it loses to the Hurricanes.

No team has ever received an at-large berth without a Quad 1 victory since the selection committee began considering NET rankings.

The Hokies’ NET ranking is currently 40, which is within the range to be considered for an NCAA Tournament berth. Computer models like KenPom have bullish on the Hokies for most of this season.

Virginia Tech and Miami tipoff at 3:00 p.m. ET on Saturday.
