True freshman safety Jalen Stroman will be honored with the No. 25 jersey in the Hokies’ game vs. Georgia Tech on Saturday.

Here’s the announcement:

Stroman has made an impact on special teams this season, playing in all seven of Virginia Tech’s games to this point. He has one tackle so far, which came vs. Middle Tennessee back in September.

He’s listed on Virginia Tech’s depth chart as a backup safety. Stroman was a 3-star recruit who is originally from Nokesville, Virginia.

According to The Athletic’s Andy Bitter, Stroman’s older brother, Greg Stroman, wore No. 25 three times during his career.

The No. 25 jersey is worn by a different player each week to honor legendary coach Frank Beamer. Justin Fuente began the tradition in 2016.

Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech kick off at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday.
