One Virginia Tech RB, a former 4-star prospect and the team’s leading rusher in 2022, is reportedly hitting the transfer portal as of Wednesday.

According to Tom VanHaaren with ESPN, Keshawn King has entered the portal after four seasons in the Hokie program. King was a 4-star prospect and the No. 23 RB nationally in the 2019 recruiting class per the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.

During the 2022 season, King led the Hokies with 443 rushing yards with an impressive 6 yards per carry. He scored 4 total touchdowns and added 137 yards in the receiving game.

For his career, King has over 1,200 yards from scrimmage and 900 yards rushing with 6 rushing touchdowns.

Virginia Tech struggled mightily in Brent Pry’s first season as head coach, including in the ground game while averaging 110 yards per game and 3.1 yards per carry. Now, the Hokies will try to replace King’s production heading into 2023.
