Aaron Curry set to join NFL coaching staff, per report

Aaron Curry is expected to become the next linebackers coach with the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to a report.

That’s per On3’s Matt Zenitz, who notes that Curry has spent the last 4 years with the Seattle Seahawks. However, this will be his 1st on-field role with an NFL coaching staff.

Curry is a former 1st round pick out of Wake Forest. He was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. However, Curry played in just 5 NFL seasons before falling out of the league.

He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant with C

harlotte back in 2014. He was eventually promoted to defensive line coach with the 49ers and served in that role until 2018. He then made the jump to the NFL with the Seahawks coaching staff and worked there from 2019-22.

As a college player, Curry was an All-American for the Demon Deacons. He also won the 2008 Butkus Award as the nation’s top linebacker for that season.
