Wake Forest continues to take care of business.

The Demon Deacons defeated Florida State 68-60 on Saturday afternoon in Tallahassee. It’s Wake Forest’s first win at FSU in over a decade:

Alondes Williams and Jake LaRavia were the driving forces behind Wake’s win. Williams poured in 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists.

Meanwhile, LaRavia came close to a triple double. He put up 18 points, 13 rebounds and a game-high 9 assists. The Seminoles simply had no answer for Williams or LaRavia.

As a team, Wake Forest shot 46 percent from the field and limited Florida State to 33 percent. Wake Forest also won the rebounding battle, 46-37.

The significant difference in shoot efficiency helped compensate for Wake Forest’s 26 turnovers in this game. Florida State was only able to turn those chances into 19 points-off-turnovers and 12 fast break points.

Wake Forest now has 9 ACC wins and 19 overall victories this season. The Demon Deacons are comfortably in the field of 64 — for now — despite starting the year with very few expectations.

Steve Forbes’ squad still has a tough slate ahead over the next couple weeks. They face NC State, Miami, Duke and Notre Dame over the next two weeks.

That stretch begins at NC State on Wednesday night.
